Ragging case: One accused is general secretary of pro-CPM organization KGSNA

KOTTAYAM: One of the accused arrested in the ragging case of Gandhinagar Govt Nursing College, is the state general secretary of Kerala Government Students Nurses Association (KGSNA). Rahul Raj (22) of Wandoor in Malappuram is one of the accused arrested the other day.

KGSNA is a pro-CPM organization of nursing students. Rahul Raj was earlier the state secretary of the organization. He was elected as the general secretary of the state committee in the last session. He has shared a post regarding this on social media.

His Facebook account’s name is 'Rahul Raj Comrade'. He has shared many posts related to the organization's activities. He got A grade for light music in the state arts fest of Students Nurses Association.

Meantime, the shocking visuals of ragging at the nursing college has surfaced. The visuals show the complainant being tied up and harassed in the college hostel. He is being stabbed all over his body with a compass. Injuring his private parts is also evident in the footage. He is being stabbed repeatedly with a compass. Meanwhile, the student can be heard screaming in pain.

Six first-year students were brutally tortured in the boys' hostel. The court has remanded the five arrested in the incident. Apart from Rahul Raj, the third-year students arrested are Samuel John (20) from Kottayam, Vivek (21) from Nedungad, Jeeva (19) from Wayanad and Rijil Jith (20) from Manjeri.
