THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Director of the Department of General Education has issued a circular to remove teachers who are not qualified in the Teachers Eligibility Test (K-TET) in aided schools.
This is because it has been found that managers are appointing unqualified teachers, contrary to the government order that only those with K-TET qualifications should be appointed after 2019-20. Only those with K-TET should be promoted. The status of promotion who have already been promoted without K-TET qualifications will be only approved from the date of passing K-TET. The circular also states that education officers should take action to disqualify managers who appoint and promote unqualified teachers.
