'Major Ravi hugged me after watching Empuraan in theatre, said that this film will become history; did his opinion change after two days?'
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actress Mallika Sukumaran stated that the people of Kerala would not believe the accusations that her son, Prithviraj, took money and committed treason after traveling abroad. She emphasized that Prithviraj was not the type of person to engage in such actions. In response to a private channel's question about Prithviraj sharing Mohanlal's Facebook post related to the Empuraan controversy, Mallika defended her son, asserting that he had done nothing wrong and was a person of integrity.
"Mohanlal posted a note on Facebook. When Mohanlal, the lead actor with significant influence in the production, posted the note, my son, the director of the film, shared it out of courtesy. Did Prithviraj write anything else about it? No, he just shared the post. Prithviraj has done nothing wrong, and everyone knows that for sure. Everyone involved in the film knows that,” Mallika said.
Mallika also addressed Major Ravi's comments on the film. "After watching the film in theaters, Major Ravi hugged me and told Prithviraj that the film would go down in history. Did his opinion change after just two days? We need to understand the source of all this. We should figure out whether the commando stirring up such stories has love for the country or an individual," she added.
Furthermore, Mallika clarified that she had attempted to contact Mohanlal following the controversy but was unable to reach him.
