THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cherian said that everyone should watch the film Empuraan. Speaking to the media, he emphasized that no part of the film should be cut or altered. Praising the film's director, Prithviraj, Saji Cherian said that the film gives the message that all humans are one.

"The film criticises everyone. There is no need to cut or omit any part of the film. Kudos to Prithviraj, who courageously directed such a film. Empuraan is a unique film from Kerala. The film, which is on par with world cinema, reflects several social issues as well. It is a film that everyone in our state should watch. A film will raise various social issues. We must appreciate art as art. The core message of the film is that we are all one, that we are all Indians. There is no need to re-censor it," the minister said.

"The re-censoring is an attack on freedom of expression. Stronger themes have been presented in cinema before. There is no need to create confusion among people by creating misunderstandings. Everyone should watch the film. Communalism is dangerous, and I applaud the Empuraan team for promoting ideas against communalism. Mohanlal’s apology is his personal opinion,” he said.
