How can weddings be done extravagantly is a big topic in India. Take Anant Ambani's wedding in July last year as an example. It was one of the most luxurious weddings India has ever seen. However, did you know that such a wedding took place in India in 2016 itself? India witnessed that wedding in November 2016 but the couple were not Bollywood superstars or wealthy businessmen.

It was the wedding of Brahmani Reddy, daughter of former Karnataka minister Janardhana Reddy. The groom was Rajeev Reddy, son of Hyderabad-based industrialist Vikram Devi Reddy. It was a celebration that cost crores of rupees. The wedding, which took place on November 16, 2016, lasted for five days. It is estimated that about 50,000 guests attended the wedding.

The main attraction of the ceremony was Brahmani's dress. The bride wore a red Kancheevaram saree. The saree embroidered with gold threads cost about Rs 17 crore and was designed by fashion designer Neeta Lulla. The bride wore Panchdala, maang tikka, and hair accessories, worth Rs 90 crore. Her diamond choker alone cost 25 crores. It is reported that Brahmani's wedding makeup alone cost more than Rs 30 lakh. 50 makeup artists came to do the makeup. It is reported that about Rs 500 crore was spent on this wedding. It was the most expensive wedding in India.

Janardhana Reddy had booked 1500 rooms in five-star and three-star hotels in Bengaluru for the guests arriving for the wedding. 2000 cabs and 15 helicopters were hired to provide transportation facilities for the guests. 40 royal chariots ferried guests within the venue. The thali meals served at the wedding cost Rs 3000 a plate and contained 16 types of premium sweets. The wedding invitations included LCD screens reportedly costing Rs 5 crore.
