Prime Minister to reach Thiruvananthapuram tomorrow to dedicate Vizhinjam Port to the nation
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in the capital tomorrow evening to dedicate the Vizhinjam International Port, which has become the pride of Kerala, to the nation. He will stay at the Raj Bhavan. That unforgettable day is Friday. The Prime Minister will reach the Pangod military camp to board the helicopter and will land in Vizhinjam at 10.10. Helipads have been set up near the berth for this purpose. After visiting the berth and the POB building and commissioning it, the Prime Minister will address the people at the inauguration pavilion at 11 am. He will return to the airport at 12 pm. The trial run, which is part of the security, will be held today.

Heavy security from today in Vizhinjam. With the arrival of the SPG team yesterday, the port area including the sea has been cordoned off. A 20-member SPG team including the DGP arrived. Top police officers led by the City Police Commissioner reached the Vizhinjam port yesterday to assess the security arrangements. The construction of the pavilion was assessed. The helipads were visited. More forces will arrive in Vizhinjam from today. Around 2000 policemen will be deployed from the airport to Vizhinjam and around 1000 policemen will be deployed to Raj Bhavan. Barricades will be set up at places including side roads in Vizhinjam. The Coast Guard, Navy and Coastal Police will also provide security.
