36 year old lady teacher pleaded guilty for having sex with sixth grader in classroom; abuse revealed through love letters to student
WASHINGTON: A teacher who sexually abused underage students has been caught. Love letters given to a student is what revealed the extent of the abuse. Jacqueline Ma, a teacher at Lincoln Acres Elementary School in National City, United States, is also a recipient of the San Diego County "Teacher of the Year" award for the 2022-2023 school year. She was arrested earlier and has been sentenced to 30 years in prison by the court. She sexually abused several underage students.
A victim's mother found a love letter given by the teacher in the student's bag. Following which, the mother reported the matter to the authorities. When the parents asked her son about the matter, it was revealed that the teacher had been abusing and forcing him to have sex in the classroom for three months. The teacher gave the boy gifts and candy to keep him from revealing the abuse.
The district attorney said the teacher had inflicted lifelong trauma on the children and that a 30-year sentence was appropriate. Jacqueline had pleaded guilty in February. After the verdict, she expressed regret. Jacqueline said she had abused her authority, exerted her power and control over them, deceived them and "disgraced the teaching profession." "Boys this age should be playing outside, feeling carefree … I ripped away their childhood," Ma said with handcuffs on.
