PALAKKAD: The 56th state conference of the Joint Council, a CPI service organization, called on the Left not to become the implementers of right-wing policies.
The main demands made in the meeting:
- The government also remains silent on the appointment of the 12th Pay Reform Commission.
- The five-year pay reform should not be sabotaged.
- The government's policy of accepting central loans and not withdrawing the contributory pension scheme is deceptive.
- The participatory pension scheme should be immediately withdrawn and the old pension restored. The arrears of dearness allowance should be granted to employees.
- The fight against corruption will be vigorously pursued.
The 12th salary revision will come into effect on July 1, 2024. The Joint Council will be prepared for a very strong protest if they are convinced of any sabotage attempt. The Joint Council called on employees to be ready for an organized struggle against the denial of benefits, including leave surrender.
On the closing day, Joint Council State Secretariat Member D. Binil presented the resolution, State Secretary M.M. Najeem presented the credential report, and State Secretariat Member A. Gracias did the vote of thanks.
