Salary for PSC chairman and members to reach 4.10 lakhs and 4 lakhs; dearness allowance increased

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After the sharp increase in salaries, the dearness allowance of PSC chairman and members has also been increased. Dearness allowance has been increased from 53 percent to 55 percent. With this, the DA of PSC chairman has increased to Rs 1,23,255. The basic salary of the chairman is Rs 2,24,100. 55 percent of it will be received as Dearness allowance.

The dearness allowance of PSC members will increase to Rs 1,20,500. The basic salary of members is Rs 2,19,090. In addition to the basic salary and dearness allowance, the PSC chairman and members will also receive benefits such as HRA and conveyance allowance. With the increase in dearness allowance, the salary of the chairman will increase to 4.10 lakhs and that of the members to 4 lakhs.

The increase in dearness allowance is effective from January 1, 2025. The arrears will be received in cash. The arrears will be received for 5 months. With the dearness allowance at the central rate, their salaries will increase twice a year. The dearness allowance is increased twice a year at the center. There are currently 20 people in the PSC, including the chairman and 19 members. There is a vacancy for one member. The PSC sharply increased the salaries of the chairman and members on February 24, 2025. Following the controversy over this salary increase, it was made effective only from January 1, 2025.
