Indians should leave Tehran immediately; Embassy issues new advisory amid escalating tensions
TEHRAN: India yet again warned its citizens to immediately leave Iran’s capital city of Tehran amid the possibility of a full-scale war with Israel. The Indian embassy said that students and citizens capable of leaving the city on their own should do so immediately.
Students, yet to register with the embassy are advised to complete the registration process immediately. The embassy has also shared three helpline numbers. They are +98 9010144557, +98 9128109109, and +98 9128109109. About two hundred students from Iran crossed the border via Armenia. Indian citizens will also be evacuated from Israel. It is reported that the move has been initiated to bring them from Tel Aviv via the Jordan and Egypt borders.
Iran has confirmed 224 deaths and Israel 24 since the start of the conflict on Friday. Israel is hell-bent on bringing down the Ayatollah regime and is orchestrating sly moves to eliminate top cleric Ali Hosseini Khamenei.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has taken refuge in an underground bunker with his family. Khamenei is believed to be in Lavisan, northeast of Tehran. Israel had planned to assassinate Khamenei on Friday but backed out after US President Donald Trump intervened.
