Actor Vijay and actress Trisha have recently become the centre of widespread speculation on social media, with rumours suggesting the two have been in a romantic relationship for the past two years. The gossip gained momentum after they were seen together in Norway last year. Trisha’s continued single status has only intensified the speculation. Adding to the buzz, both Vijay and Trisha reportedly travelled together in a private jet to attend actress Keerthy Suresh's wedding in Goa.

Simultaneously, there have been unconfirmed reports claiming that Vijay and his wife Sangeetha are currently separated. Sangeetha’s absence from major public functions — including audio launch events of Vijay’s films and the unveiling of his political party — has led to further conjecture about a rift in the couple’s relationship. Recent reports indicate that Sangeetha is now living in London with their daughter, who is pursuing her studies abroad.

Now, the words of Vijay's family friend and ALS production company member, Jayanthi Kannappan, have caught the attention of social media. Speaking to a Tamil media outlet, she said, "Vijay is not that kind of person. He’s not someone who would abandon his wife and children. Both he and Sangeetha are educated and well-travelled. They both attended my son’s wedding and gave him their blessings. Since their daughter is studying abroad, Sangeetha is staying with her. Occasionally, she does come to Chennai. As for the rumours about Trisha and Vijay, I don’t see it as a big deal. Trisha and Vijay are both popular stars with busy lives. They work together, that’s all. Both of them attending Keerthy’s wedding — I see that simply as two colleagues from the same industry taking part in a celebration,” said Jayanthi Kannappan.
