Assam native's live-in relationship with Bengaluru woman ends in gruesome murder, arrested
BENGALURU: A man was taken into custody following the police discovery of a woman’s dead body among filth inside a garbage truck in Bengaluru. The police arrested the woman's live-in partner, Shamsuddin (33), a native of Assam. The police said that the arrest was made within 20 hours of the discovery of the body.
Asha (40), a resident of Hulimavu in Bengaluru, was identified as the victim. Shamsuddin had been in a relationship with Asha, a widow, for a year and a half. The two started living together four months ago. They worked in the same housekeeping company. It is here that the duo first met. They were living together and even introduced themselves to neighbours as husband and wife.
It is doubted that a bitter fight between the two in the last days resulted in the gruesome murder. Police said that on Sunday, Shamsuddin reached the house in a bender and quarrelled with Asha. The talk escalated to a point of physical abuse. Shamsuddin then strangled her to death. After this, Shamsuddin put her body in a bag and rode a bike to the location of the truck to dispose of the bag with the dead body in it. During police questioning, the accused confessed to the crime.
