Heart wrenching scenes from Bindu’s house, mother inconsolable

KOTTAYAM: A pall of gloom descended the house of Bindu, who died in the building collapse in Kottayam Medical College Hospital. The cries of Seethalakshmy, mother of Bindu were heart wrenching. Her relatives struggled to control her after hearing the news of her daughter's death. ‘Ente Muthe...Bindu Mole, my dear... I know, something has happened to her,’ screamed Seethalakshmy.

Although everyone knew about Bindu’s death, none had the guts to inform her mother. The inmates of the house had even switched off the TV. In the meantime, a relative called Seethalakshmy on the phone and informed her of the death. Hearing the news Seethalakshmy collapsed and the relatives had a tough time to console her.

Seethalakshmy, Bindu, her husband Vishrutan and their children live in an unfinished house on five cents of land. The family survived on the income of Vishruthan, a mason, and Bindu, who worked in a textile shop in Thalayolaparambu. Bindu educated her children Navaneeth and Navami with the money she earned from her small income. Meanwhile, her daughter's illness shattered Bindu's calculations.

Navami is a final-year student of a private nursing college in Andhra Pradesh. Navaneeth, after his engineering is working in a private firm in Ernakulam. Bindu along with her husband Vishruthan reached Kottayam Medical College Hospital on Tuesday for their daughter Navami's spine surgery. Since then, both of them have been with Navami in the hospital. Since there was no one at home, Seethalakshmy was staying at a close relative's house.
