Infant dies during botched circumcision in Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: A two-month-old baby died after being administered anaesthesia for the circumcision ceremony in Kakkur, Kozhikode. Emil Adam, the son of the Shadiya-Imthyas couple from Feroke, died in the tragic incident.

The infant was given local anaesthesia for the circumcision at a private clinic in Kakkur. After anaesthesia, the baby developed breathing difficulties. The family then rushed the toddler to a private hospital in Kozhikode but could not save the life.

Kakkur police registered a case of unnatural death.
