Film fraternity was envious when Sathaar married Jayabharathi
Sathaar, shone as a hero and villain in the Malayalam films in the last four decades. He excelled in the hit films of 80’s. He acted not only in Malayalam but also in Tamil and Telugu films. His roles in Benz Vasu, Ee Nadu, Sharapanjaram, Avalude Ravukal, Anavaranam, Parayan Bakki Vechu were outstanding. Now the actor has bid good bye from films and is also behind the scenes of life now.
The actor entered the Malayalam film industry through M Krishnan Nair’s Bharaye Avashyamundu in 1975. He acted as a hero in Vincent Master’s Anavaranam in 1976. An ad for a new face in Prem Nazir’s film changed his life. Following that, he got a role in Anavaranam. He was later active in films and got strong roles. He became well known for his roles in films like ‘Sharapanjaram’ and later turned villain in many films.
He had acted with Prem Nazir, Jayan the then super heroes of the film. In between that, he married his co-star Jayabharathi who acted with him in ‘Beena’. The film world looked with envy when he married Jayabharathi, a top actress of the then Malayalam film industry. The separation of the two was very painful for him.
With the entry of Mammootty and Mohanlal, Sathaar became active in villain roles. However, he was not active after 2003. He later acted in Ashiq Abu’s 22 Female Kottayam in 2012. He also acted in Kanji, Natholi Cheriya Meenalla.
