Significant change in Kerala's weather over next five days; special alert issued for all districts today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In view of the intensifying rainfall across the state, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Orange Alerts for more districts in Kerala. A total of seven districts are under Orange Alert today, while seven others are under Yellow Alert. This means all districts in the state are advised to remain cautious today. The IMD has also prohibited fishing activity along the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts from today until July 20.

July 16, 2025: Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod

July 17, 2025: Kannur, Kasaragod

July 18, 2025: Kannur, Kasaragod

July 19, 2025: Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod

July 20, 2025: Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod

According to the IMD, an Orange Alert indicates the possibility of isolated extremely heavy rainfall in the range of 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm within 24 hours.

July 17, 2025: Alappuzha, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad

July 19, 2025: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad
