Active drug distributor in film industry; actor who came for shoot at Varkala was in constant contact with Don Saiju alias Sanju

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Don Saiju alias Sanju, who was arrested in the Kallambalam MDMA case, will be taken into custody on Thursday. The investigation is progressing under the leadership of Varkala DySP Gopakumar.

The police have received documents proving that Sanju has close ties with young actors. The police have concluded that Sanju had dealings with many of them. An actor, who recently came to Varkala for filming, was in constant contact with Sanju. It is indicated that evidence related to this was obtained from checking the phone.

The crystal clear or purest MDMA seized in Kallambalam is believed to be for VIP customers. Sanju, who receives large quantities of the drug from abroad, also has a large drug mafia connection. Neither the police nor the excise department has been able to trace this yet.

Trade worth crores

It is reported that Sanju smuggled drugs worth crores in a year. It is reported that Sanju, who was born and raised in Varkala, was also closely associated with the tourism sector. Sanju was involved in criminal cases even at a young age. Sanju's name came to light in the sale of drugs when he was caught with MDMA in 2022. His growth came later. On July 10, the police seized one and a half kilos of MDMA worth four crores in Kallambalam. Apart from Sanju, Valiyavila native Nandu, Unnikannan and Praveen were also arrested. The drugs were smuggled from Oman by plane, hidden in a box filled with dates.
