KOLLAM: CPM former MLA P. Aisha Potty said that she did not come to the Congress stage to join the Congress, but to deliver the Oommen Chandy memorial speech. She was delivering the main memorial address at the Oommen Chandy memorial service organised by the Congress Kottarakkara Block Committee at the Kalayapuram Ashraya Sanketham.

She began the speech with the words that many people are eagerly waiting to see what Aisha Potty will say when she comes to this stage. "I laughed it off when I saw the comments that I would be given membership on this stage. I am not a parliamentary aspirant. I stayed away from the responsibilities and committees of the movement due to physical difficulties. Now everything is fine. I want to focus more on my profession as a lawyer. I was happy when I was called for the Oommen Chandy memorial lecture. However, since then, some people have been bullying me on social media. The criticism has only made me stronger. The movement gave me opportunities, but I will win only if the people vote. It was the people who made me Aisha Potty. The people who make fun of me on social media do not really know who I am," Aisha Potty said.

Kodikunnil Suresh MP inaugurated the meeting. Block Congress Committee President K.G.Alex presided. Chandy Oommen MLA inaugurated the charity projects.

Apology if criticised

Aisha Potty said that she may have criticised Oommen Chandy as part of her political activities, and she apologises for all that with an open mind. "I served as an MLA with Oommen Chandy three times. Oommen Chandy is the one who showed me what a representative of the people should be like. His interventions in the public relations program were amazing. No matter who the representative of the people is, he should show love to people."
