WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump made another vainglorious statement about purported US intervention in the bitter skirmish between India and Pakistan over the Pahalgam terrorist attack. In a new such claim, President Trump said the US military shot down five jets in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack.

He also argued that the US had warned both countries in trade agreements to ensure peace in the region. Trump made this statement at a dinner with Republican lawmakers. However, he did not clarify which side's jets were shot down by the US.

Trump on India-Pakistan war:

“We have stopped conflicts between many countries that were on the brink of war before. The India-Pakistan conflict was becoming bigger. We warned them of cancelling the trade deals if the war were to continue.”

Referring to Iran, Trump claimed that they had destroyed Tehran's nuclear facilities.

This is not the first of such conceited claims made by Trump. The Indian government had previously denied the White House's claims of bringing a truce between the two countries. Even PM Modi made a brief phone call with US President Trump to bring more clarity on the issue.

Political observers are curious to know the aftermath in the indian political climate after Trump’s yet another explosive claim.
