Bribery allegation: Vigilance conducts surprise raids again at 81 Motor Vehicle Department offices across Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted surprise inspections at 81 Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) offices across the state starting from 4:30 PM. The raids were carried out under the operation named Operation Clean Wheels.

The inspections were prompted by widespread complaints that MVD officials were accepting bribes through agents. Based on these complaints, vigilance teams conducted lightning inspections at several MVD offices. Allegations include officials demanding illegal payments for services such as issuing driving licenses.
