How did Govindachamy jump jail, took days to cut iron bars in cell, serious lapse on side of jail authorities

KANNUR: The jail authorities are blamed for the security lapse in the Kannur jail which led to the escape of notorious criminal Govindachamy. The question arises as how Govindachamy, who was in a high-security jail, was able to cut the iron rod of the jail cell. It would have taken at least an hour to cut the iron rod of the cell. It is a serious lapse on the side of the jail for not paying attention to the sound or other movements. It is also not clear whether he took days to cut the rod. He may have squeezed himself and got out through it.

It is not clear from where he got the weapon to cut the rod or who brought the weapon. It is also possible that he may have taken advantage of the heavy rains that have lashing the city for the past few days. The prisoners are taken back to the cell at 5 pm. He jumped jail at 1:30 am. It is clear from the CCTV footage of the prison that Govindachamy from high security prison, walked through the quarantine block and reached the wall here. He then made a rope using cloth and threw it to the fencing and jumped the wall.
