Actor Kalabhavan Navas passes away; found dead in hotel room in Kochi

KOCHI: Actor and mimicry artist Kalabhavan Navas passed away. He was 51 years old. The actor was found dead in a hotel room in Chottanikkara. Navas had returned to the hotel room after finishing the shooting of a film.

Kalabhavan Navas' father is film actor Abubakar. He entered the film world from the mimicry field. Navas made his debut in the film Chaithanyam, which was released in 1995. Later, he played small and big roles in many films. He was given his first notable role by veteran director Balu Kiriyath in the film mimics action 500, along with 38 mimicry artists. Thillana Thillana, Mayajalaam, Junior Mandrake, Mylanchi Monchulla Veedu, Kasaba, Mattupetti Machan are some of the films in which Navas acted. His last movie was Detective Ujjwalan directed by Indraneel Gopalakrishnan, with Dhyan Sreenivasan playing the lead.

His wife is film star Rehna. They have three kids- Naharin, Rihan and Ridwan. His brother Niaz Bakkar is also an actor.
