Sona's suicide note recovered from her house alleged that she was pressured by him to embrace their faith. Her note said that she was locked in his house, assaulted and forced to convert to his religion. She was found hanging at her house last Saturday. Her suicide note said, 'I can't live being cheated like this. I forgave Ramees even after he was caught for immoral traffic. However, he proved again and again that he doesn't love me. I went with him after leaving my family. He then forced me to convert to his religion. He took me home on the pretext of a registered marriage and then made his family say that marriage will be conducted only if converted. Even though his parents knew about his mistakes, they didn't take any action. Even after agreeing to conversion, Ramees, his friends and family continued cruelty towards me. He strictly told me that it wasn't enough to change my religion and that she should stay in his house. I, who was devastated after my father’s demise, took the drastic step due to the pressure from his family.
Meantime, Johnsy, a friend of the victim, said Sona had evidence of Ramees having another relationship. Ramees forced her to convert to his religion. He had made all the arrangements for the register marriage. Ramees, who had come to Adimaly for the register marriage, backed out at the last minute. Sona said Ramees took her home last week, locked her in a room and assaulted her. Ramees and his family forced her to convert to his religion. Sona said a register marriage should be conducted if wanted to change her religion. Johnsy also revealed that Sona told her not to tell all these things to her brother. Police said the two fell in love during their college days in Aluva UC College.
