THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Twist in the incident where a car carrying a woman and a man was hit by another car. The Kadinamkulam police have arrested three people, including the accused in a honey trap case, in the incident where the man was kidnapped after the accident. The police have arrested Neyyattinkara native Karthik (24), and Karunagappally natives Sabir (28), and Ramees (32). The abducted Rashid is a native of Venjaramoodu. The police have freed him in a daring move.

The incident took place in Kadinamkulam yesterday afternoon. A three-member gang rammed the car carrying Rashid and his lady friend in Kadinamkulam Mariyanadu. The gang then abducted Rashid in another car. It is believed that a financial dispute was the reason for the abduction.

The Idukki native woman who was with Rashid went to the Kadinamkulam police station and filed a complaint. An investigation was initiated. The police conducted an investigation focusing on the car and mobile numbers, but could not find the kidnappers. Meanwhile, the group that was travelling in different vehicles took Rashid to an unknown location and beat him up.

The police, who received information today that they were returning to the Venjaramoodu area, chased them at Kilimanoor. The police then stopped the car and freed Rashid. Meanwhile, the main accused, Karthik, who was arrested earlier in a honeytrap case and was out on bail, got out of the car and fled. He was later caught in Kazhakoottam. The police took the abducted man and those in the car into custody.

Karthik is an accused in several cases, including the case of kidnapping a man through a honey trap in Kazhakoottham last May and robbing him of a luxury car and gold. The police have taken into custody three cars used in the kidnapping. Kadinamkulam police said that investigations are underway to identify the rest of the gang involved in the kidnapping.
