Swetha Menon is my good friend, will quit acting if allegations proved, says Baburaj

KOCHI: Actor Baburaj said actress Swetha Menon is his close friend and that he will quit acting if allegations against him are proved. Baburaj said this while talking to the media when he came to cast his vote in AMMA elections in Kochi.

'Let's hope that whoever wins will have a good start. The association will move forward in a good way. The new people will run the association smoothly. The things that happened within the association will be discussed in the general body. I am not talking about it now because I don’t want to make an issue again by talking about it now.

People will believe whatever is said about me. Swetha is my intimate friend. Some spoke bad connecting me with Swetha. Swetha knows that. Let them find out everything. The new governing body should find out who levelled such allegations and who is behind the case. If I am a part of it, I will quit acting. I have known Swetha for years. Whoever wins, I am with them. It is not right to contest when allegations exist. That is why I withdrew. I did not withdraw out of pressure. I welcome women in the fray,’ said Baburaj.

There were allegations that Baburaj was behind the accusations against Swetha Menon and Kukku Parameswaran, contesting AMMA polls. Many demanded Baburaj to abstain from the elections.
