31-year-old soldier dies in KSRTC bus accident; wife seriously injured

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A soldier died and his wife was seriously injured in a collision between a KSRTC bus and a bike. Akhil (31), a jawan of the Madras Regiment and a native of Thiruvananthapuram, Thiruvallam, died. His wife Aishwarya (25) was injured.

The accident took place at 12.30 pm yesterday at Koppam near Vembayam on the M.C. Road. The bus travelling from Venjaramoodu to Nedumangad was overtaking another vehicle when it collided with Akhil's bike coming from the opposite direction. The couple was thrown from the bike and seriously injured. Locals who reached the spot then admitted the injured to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, but Akhil died soon after.
