Are Rahul Mamkootathil’s days numbered? Party's national leadership deeply dissatisfied
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There are reports that Rahul Mamkootathil may be removed from the Youth Congress state president's post following the revelations and allegations levelled against him on social media. Opposition leader V D Satheesan and KPCC president Sunny Joseph have held unofficial discussions on it. It is heard that action will be taken only after holding talks with senior leaders.
Women leaders in the party have also filed a complaint against Rahul to AICC general secretary Deepadas Munshi, who is in charge of the state. She has asked the state leadership to investigate the matter. This has paved the way for action against Rahul at the organizational level. The decision to remove him from the post should be taken by the Youth Congress national leadership.
Writer Honey Bhaskaran came forward mentioning Rahul’s name. She alleged that Rahul chatted with her on social media and then spoke badly about her to others. Honey clarified that Shafi Parambil knows about Rahul's bad character, but the complaints he receives reaches nowhere. Female congress workers are among the victims of Rahul.
'I have not considered taking legal action against Rahul. If he has the courage, let him file a defamation case, I am ready to face it. I know many people who have been victims of Rahul. Many have filed complaints against Rahul to Shafi Parambil,' Honey told media. Honey Bhaskar had also shared a post against Rahul through her Facebook page.
The party centers assess that the allegations against Rahul will adversely affect the party with the local body and assembly elections approaching. Therefore, the party has decided to take strong action if he is found guilty. Even if action is taken against Rahul, the party will not be able to easily remove the bad reputation of having protected him for so long. The opposition parties are taking advantage of this. The party leadership is in a dilemma on how to defend the party from this.
