'Rahul and Rahul'; BJP raises allegations against Rahul Mamkootathil at national level; shares image with Rahul Gandhi

NEW DELHI: BJP has made the sexual assault allegations against MLA Rahul Mamkootathil a national topic of discussion. The BJP's campaign is being carried out by sharing a picture of MLA Rahul Mamkootathil with Rahul Gandhi. Sharing the picture, BJP wrote on its X page that another Congress leader, Kerala MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, has been accused of sexual behaviour towards women. The picture has been titled Rahul and Rahul. The picture reads, 'Rahul Gandhi's close aide, Kerala Youth Congress President & MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, accused of indecent sexual behaviour towards women.'

Meanwhile, AICC General Secretary K. C. Venugopal said that the controversies related to MLA Rahul Mamkootathil are serious. He said that Rahul resigned from the post of Youth Congress President within 24 hours of the issue and that the other decision will be announced later. K.C. Venugopal's response came after Rahul Mamkootathil met the media amid the controversies.

Rahul Mamkootathil had said in a press conference that he would not try to put the party in a crisis in any way. He had also shared the details of his chat with his transgender friend Avantika with the media. Rahul Mamkootathil added that those who love him still support him. He did not comment on resigning from the post of MLA.
