Former Accountant General James K Joseph passes away
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Accountant General James K. Joseph passed away on Monday. He was 76. James K Joseph was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city where he breathed his last.
James K. Joseph had worked as the Accountant General of the states of Kerala, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu and also as the MD of KSRTC and KCDFC. He was the managing editor of the vernacular newspaper Deepika. The irregularities in the palm oil deal during the reign of K Karunakaran came out during James K. Joseph’s tenure as Accountant General.
James K. Joseph is a native of Ponkunnam Karattukunnel in Kottayam. He is the son of former Education Director M.V. Joseph. His wife is Sheela James (daughter of former minister Baby John). Children: Shalini James, Tarun James, Rashmi James. The body will be taken to his residence in PTP Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram, at 9 am on Tuesday.
