Lakshmi Menon named third accused in abduction and assault case; actress goes into hiding, say reports
KOCHI: Renowned actress Lakshmi has been named the third accused in the case where an IT employee was abducted and physically assaulted. According to reports, the actress has gone into hiding. The incident related to the case happened on the night of August 24th near the Ernakulam North railway overbridge. The CCTV footage of the incident has now surfaced. The complaint was lodged by Aliyar Shah Saleem, a native of Aluva.
The footage shows the actress and her friends blocking a car in the middle of the road and creating a scene. As per reports, the group then pulled Aliyar out of his car and forced him into another vehicle before abducting him. Police had earlier arrested Mithun, Aneesh, and Sona Mol, all natives of Aluva and Paravoor, in connection with the case.
Police confirmed the actress's involvement in the case and named her as the third accused after verifying the footage. It is said that a dispute at a bar led to the abduction and assault. After the complainant and his friends left the bar, they were followed by Lakshmi Menon and her group and intercepted at the North overbridge.
Lakshmi Menon, a native of Thrippunithura, made her film debut in 2011 with director Vinayan’s Raghuvinte Swantham Rasiya. She later acted in several superhit Tamil films, including Kumki, Jigarthanda, Sundarapandian and Vedalam.
