"India will sell its exports no longer to the United States, but to the rest of the BRICS": Warning to America and Trump
WASHINGTON, D.C.: A warning to Donald Trump in the face of deteriorating relations with India on the issue of tariffs. Economist Richard Wolfe has warned that treating India like other small countries will backfire on the United States. Wolfe has given the warning citing Trump's recent approach to India.
Richard Wolfe is a professor at New School University in New York and a prominent economist. There are some policies that the United States has adopted towards small countries since Trump came to power. India should never be treated in the same way. 'Look, they have a long-standing close trade relationship with Russia, and not only that, India has the largest population in the world. If they are put in an enemy position, it will be a challenge that the United States has never faced before.' - Richard Wolfe said.
"India will look for other ways to overcome the pressure from the US. Strengthening ties with the BRICS countries will be one of them. It will be a natural step for India."
"If you shut off the United States to India by big tariffs, India will have to find other places to sell its exports. But like Russia found another place to sell its energy, India will sell its exports no longer to the United States, but to the rest of the BRICS. That will lead to the strengthening and growth of the BRICS group. Trump's policies will further strengthen, grow, and unite the BRICS," Richard Wolfe warned.
