Fire breaks out at Indian Oil Corporation stockyard in Kozhikode; three people injured
KOZHIKODE: A fire broke out at the Indian Oil Corporation stockyard in Feroke, Kozhikode, during renovation work. The fire broke out while welding works were being carried out on a tank. Three people were injured in the incident. Fortunately, their injuries are not serious. Following the incident, firefighters from the Meenchanda Fire Station arrived at the site and brought the fire under control.
A similar incident had taken place five years ago at an oil storage facility in Madhavaram, Chennai. The fire was brought under control using four fire engines. In another incident, four people were killed and 48 were injured after a boiler exploded at a chemical factory in Dombivli near Mumbai.
