Be alert: Heavy rain expected in all districts tonight
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning that rainfall is likely to intensify across Kerala. Over the next three hours, isolated areas in all districts may experience moderate rain accompanied by strong winds reaching up to 40 kmph.
A yellow alert has been issued for Kannur and Kasargod districts tomorrow, where isolated heavy showers are expected. According to the IMD, “heavy rain” refers to rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm within 24 hours.
The IMD has also advised against fishing along the Kerala–Lakshadweep coasts today, and along the Karnataka coast from today until August 31. Winds are expected to blow at speeds of 40–50 kmph, occasionally reaching up to 60 kmph, bringing rough weather in these regions.
