'There isn’t enough space here, Amma likes to remain independent'; reason behind Thara Kalyan living alone

Actress and dancer Thara Kalyan has a large number of fans among the Malayali audience. Her only daughter, dancer Sowbhagya, and son-in-law, actor Arjun, are also familiar faces to Malayalis. Thara Kalyan is also Arjun's mentor in dance. Currently, Sowbhagya and Arjun are living in a rented house.

Sowbhagya’s videos with her pets had earlier gone viral on social media. Now, in a recent interview with a YouTube channel, Sowbhagya and Arjun revealed why Thara does not live with them.

Arjun explained that his Thara Kalyan prefers to live alone for her freedom. Sowbhagya, who said that her mother likes to remain independent, added that their rented house has space limitations, which makes it difficult for her mother to stay with them.

“Even if she wanted to, how could she stay with us? There isn’t enough space here. There are already several members in the house, and it would be cramped for one more. Amma likes to live independently. She prefers to come and go freely, and she values having her own space,” Sowbhagya said.

“Before I became a mother, I often wondered why Amma was like this. But after having my own child, I understand many of the things I couldn’t before. Every day I remember how well she raised me,” Sowbhagya added.
