'If Mammootty can play that role, I too can'; Veteran actress Shobana talks about cinema, dream role and politics

Actress Shobana opined about the technical changes that happened in cinema in general. The national award-winning actress also addressed the criticism from people that she has lost interest in movies to focus more on dance. She was talking with a popular media channel.

SHOBANA:

"There have been a lot of technical changes in cinema. The films I have done in yesteryear are beautiful. What's wrong with Mammootty acting in Kaathal the Core? He played the role beautifully. I would love to play the role of a transgender. I talked with a few scriptwriters about this, but they were apprehensive and even opined that the plan would flop. Didn't everyone accept the role Mammookka played in Kaathal? If Mammootty can do it, I too can.

I am waiting for such a role. I want to change my appearance and act. I had said earlier that I am interested in politics. It is still the same. I want to do a lot of service for others. Suresh Gopi is my good friend, and for the same reason, many doubt whether I would join BJP in the near future”
