Indian staff, who questioned public urination, shot dead in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES: An Indian youngster, a native of Punjab, was shot dead in US after he questioned a man for urinating in public. 25-year-old Kapil, who entered the US illegally in 2022 through the Donkey route, paying Rs 45 lakhs, was working in a store in California’s Los Angeles.

According to reports, Kapil, while on his evening walk on Saturday, spotted a man urinating near his store, which he questioned. The man took offence over the youngster questioning him and took out his gun to fire shots at point-blank range. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Kapil was declared dead by doctors.

As per reports, Kapil hails from Jind near the Haryana-Punjab border. Work is ongoing to bring his dead body back home. The village sarpanch has asked for the government’s help in bringing the mortal remains home as the process requires almost Rs 15 lakh.

The incident has yet again raised concern over the repeated attacks on Indians in the US that are continuing with impunity.
