Played with pistol at home; five-year-old son of popular singer couple Kanha Gurjari and Mukesh Patel dies from gunfire accident

JAIPUR: A five-year-old boy who played with a pistol at home met with a tragic end. The incident took place in Kotputli, Rajasthan. The child who died in the accident is Devanshu (5), a resident of Chhitoli of the district's Virat Nagar police station area. Police say that the child was the only one at home when the incident took place. Hearing the gunshots, a neighbour rushed to the house to find the child lying in a pool of blood.

The boy's father had previously run a defense training academy. The institution was closed down a year ago. The country-made pistol taken from here was kept in a box in the house. The child got this gun when no one was there. While playing with it, the child accidentally pulled the trigger. As a result, the bullet went through his head. Devanshu died on the spot.

Police reached the spot on the information of the neighbor. The child was taken to the hospital but could not be saved. A year ago, Devanshu's father Mukesh had started singing with his wife Dharma. Dharma was popular under her stage identity, Kanha Gurjari. The deceased, Devanshu, is the couple's only child.
