Israel carries out attack in Qatar; strike was aimed at Hamas leaders, say reports

DOHA: Israel has launched an attack in Doha, the capital of Qatar, with eyewitnesses reporting explosions in the city, according to Reuters. Several blasts were heard, and sources suggested the strike was aimed at Hamas leaders.

Israel said the operation was carried out because Hamas leaders have been using Doha as their base outside Gaza.

In a statement, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed that the strike targeted senior Hamas leadership. However, the military did not disclose the exact location of the attack, only noting that it took place outside Gaza.

“The IDF and ISA will continue determined operations to defeat Hamas, which is responsible for the October 7 massacre,” the statement read.

Hamas, meanwhile, said that none of its leaders were injured in the attack and confirmed that all of them remain safe.
