Governor wishes Kerala to move forward under the leadership of Chief Minister: Colourful conclusion to Onam week celebrations

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government's seven-day Onam week celebrations in the capital concluded with a grand procession. Governor Rajendra Arlekar flagged off the procession marking the end of the Onam week celebrations at Manaveeyam Veedhi.

The Governor wished the state to move forward under the leadership of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. "The Chief Minister is my elder brother. These celebrations are a reflection of our culture and unity. I thank the state government and the Chief Minister for inviting me to the function," the Governor said. "I have come here to receive the love and respect you are giving me. I am very happy that the Chief Minister and other high-ups in the government have invited me to the function. May everyone have a prosperous year," the Governor wished.

The program began with the blowing of conch shells by 51 artists. 59 floats from various departments, various art forms, and musical elements added to the excitement of the procession. More spectators than last time came to watch the procession. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was also part of the flag-off ceremony. Minister V Sivankutty presided over the ceremony.
