Actor Kollam Thulasi said that he did not receive any help from the film industry while he was suffering from cancer. Speaking to a YouTube channel, he said nobody from the film industry, except Mammootty, called him during those times.

"But there was one man who helped me during that time- Dileep. No matter what people say about him, Dileep called me and offered four films while I was struggling financially. He supported me and helped me earn a good salary. That's why I argued for Dileep," Kollam Thulasi said.

"I had also said that if Dileep is guilty, he should be stripped half-naked, beaten with a whip, and paraded through the streets. I believe that he has not done anything wrong. Chemotherapy requires a lot of money. A few TV artists came to see me, that’s all. But then again, I myself don’t usually go to visit others, so there is no point in being upset about people not coming to see me. It was just that feeling of being alone, with no one to help, that hurt me then. That was when I wrote a poem, which later went viral," he said.

"Without a family, what is left? Many people now live alone, and their final days are often like this. What kind of life is it if there is no one to love and no one to be loved by? But now I have moved past all that. I am walking on a spiritual path. I am a firm believer in God," he added.
