Gold plated sheets cannot be brought back immediately, everything done following procedures, says P S Prashanth
PATHANAMTHITTA: Devaswom Board President P S Prashanth reacted to the act of removing the gold-plated sheets on the Dwarapalaka idols in Sabarimala. The campaign going on shows that the board had done something wrong. The president also clarified that the gold plated sheets were removed on the directions of the Devaswom Thantri. 'It was not a decision taken in the morning. The gold-plated sheets were taken to Chennai following procedures. The board tried to follow the rituals. It is being blamed on a technical issue.
The gold-plated sheets that have been removed cannot be brought back immediately. It will be informed to the high court. Electroplating has already started. It cannot be brought back in this situation. Will convince the court about this. We have not committed any crime. Not seeking the court's permission is only a technical issue.
There is no confusion regarding the Global Ayyappa Sangamam. There is nothing wrong in collecting money for the Ayyappa Sangamam. All the figures will be submitted to the court. There is no restriction on the virtual queue,' clarified Prashanth.
The Devaswom Board will file a review plea in the high court today in the case. It will seek a review of the order to return the gold plates taken to Chennai for repair works. The Advocate General will appear in person in the case. The division bench comprising Justice V Raja Vijayaraghavan and Justice K V Jayakumar had ordered that the gold plates on the Dwarapalaka idols of the shrine be returned immediately as they were taken to Chennai without permission. The plea will seek a review of this order.
