THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader VD Satheesan issued a veiled threat to police officials over the incident of producing KSU leaders in court with handcuffs and covering their faces with black clothes.

“The KSU leaders were produced in court yesterday with handcuffs and black cloths on their heads. Are they terrorists? Are they serious criminals? Few within the Kerala police are drooling towards the government in loyalty. The police forces are heading toward total lawlessness.

KSU members were framed in false cases at the request of party leaders and brought before them like terrorists and serious criminals.

We used to forgive such crimes in the past. However, those days are over, and we will never forget what these officials did to our workers. Let them count the days, as we will never allow such rogues to continue in service. The Chief Minister, who is in charge of the Home Department, is keeping silent over the issues of police brutality. This silence is not befitting a ruler.

The Kerala police have been turned into a bunch of rogues and appeasers of the CPM. We know every one of the officers who behaved brutally to our workers. We will pay them back in the same coin.”

Meanwhile, the march organised by KSU to Vadakkancherry police station in protest ended in clashes. The police used water cannons on the activists. The activists also tried to cross the barricade, which led to further chaos in the region. The protest is continuing.
