Asked to give balance money; KSRTC conductor suffering from cancer assaulted by private bus conductor; case charged

KOZHIKODE: A KSRTC conductor who was travelling in a private bus was assaulted by a private bus conductor. The police have registered a case in the incident. The assault was committed by Sanoop (42), a native of Narikkatteri. The Kuttiyadi police have registered a case against Amaldev (26), the conductor of a private bus named KCR operating on the Thotilpalam-Vadakara route. The incident took place yesterday evening.

Sanoop boarded a private bus from Kakkattil to submit a fitness certificate at the Thottilpalam depot office. Sanoop is suffering from cancer. Feeling tired during the journey, Sanoop decided to get off at the Kuttiyadi bus stand. He then asked Amaldev if he could take the ticket fee up to Kuttiyadi and return the remaining money. This is what led to the assault. Sanoop's complaint states that Amaldev brutally assaulted him. Sanoop, who was beaten on the face and body, was admitted to the Kuttiyadi Taluk Hospital.
