DUBAI: The arch-rivals India and Pakistan will clash in the Asia Cup cricket tournament on Sunday. The two countries currently face each other only in ICC and ACC tournaments. Normally, tickets for this classic cricket rivalry would sell out in a matter of seconds. However, things are different in the Asia Cup. Reports say that tickets for the match are still available.

There is a huge controversy among the people regarding the India-Pakistan cricket match in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. There are also calls to boycott the match, including on social media. There was even a discussion at one point about whether the match between the two countries would take place, but when the schedule of the tournament was released by the Asian Cricket Council, it was confirmed that the India-Pakistan match would take place.

There has been strong criticism against the central government and the BCCI, which gave permission for the cricket match against Pakistan. When the Champions Trophy, which was hosted by Pakistan, was held in March, India's matches were held in Dubai. The ICC had earlier announced that the two countries will no longer visit each other in any tournament and that the matches will be held at neutral venues.

There is widespread protest in the wake of the India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup. In the wake of this, reports are coming out that BCCI high-ups will not come to watch the match at the stadium. People including Jay Shah will not come to watch the match. No important BCCI office bearers have arrived in Dubai. BCCI officials were also present to watch the India-Pakistan match when the Champions Trophy was held in March.
