Two men, accused of opening fire at Disha Patani's house, killed in encounter
LUCKNOW: Two youngsters, accused of opening fire in front of Bollywood star Disha Patani's house, were reportedly killed in an encounter. Ravindra, a native of Rohtak, and Arun, a native of Sonipat, were killed in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Police earlier said that the two were subdued and arrested. After being taken into custody, they were admitted to the hospital due to injuries, but things spiralled out of control in the meantime, leaving the two accused dead.
The shooting took place at Disha's ancestral house in the Civil Lines area of Bareilly on September 12. The incident took place at around 3.45 am. At that time, Disha Patani's father, retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagdish Singh Patani, mother and sister Khushboo Patani were present at the house.
Goldy Brar, a gangster based in Canada, has claimed responsibility for the incident. Brar said that the attack was in protest of Disha Patani and her sister's remarks about gurus Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya.
The Noida unit of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force and the Crime Intelligence Unit of the Delhi Police were jointly investigating the perpetrators of the attack.
