THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A BJP councillor ended his life inside the councillor's office in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday. Thiruvananthapuram Thirumala ward councillor Anil Kumar ended his life after pointing fingers at the party leadership through a suicide note. In the note, it is alleged that the party didn’t help in the crisis at Valiyasala Farm Society, where Anil Kumar was an office bearer.

Anil Kumar was found dead at Thirumala at 8:30 am this morning. The Valiyasala Farm Society, where Anil is the president, has provided loans of more than Rs 6 crore. There were reports of financial irregularities here. With this, the investors demanded the money back. A case was also registered at Thampanoor police station. Anil Kumar was also summoned to the station in connection with this case.

“No one else in the society helped me come out of the financial problem. Neither I nor my family took any money from this. Now all the blame is on me. I see no point in living further.” : excerpts from the suicide note.

However, BJP leader VV Rajesh said that there was no irregularity in connection with the farm society so far. However, he added that there were some problems after a few people who took loans failed to repay the money.

"Processes are underway after many of those who took loans did not repay. The fixed deposits to the society came from people connected with Anil Kumar. He experienced mental stress after those people demanded the money back,” said VV Rajesh.
