‘AIIMS should be set up in Alappuzha, if stopped will implement in Thrissur’

THRISSUR: Union Minister Suresh Gopi said they have got the full support from the central government on AIIMS issue. He also said that AIIMS should be set up in Alappuzha itself. Suresh Gopi added that it is our duty to bring Alappuzha, which is behind other districts in terms of development, forward.

'If we examine 13 districts, Alappuzha is behind Idukki. This district is facing great difficulties. Therefore, setting up AIIMS in Alappuzha is essential for the development of this country. AIIMS should be set up in Alappuzha itself', said Suresh Gopi. Meantime, Suresh Gopi added that if anyone is against bringing AIIMS in Alappuzha due to some political objectives, then will definitely bring it to Thrissur.

The chief secretary to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed that there is no space for AIIMS in Thrissur. However, he said that land can be provided in Thiruvananthapuram. Suresh Gopi alleged that some people are opposing the setting up of AIIMS in Thrissur as they fear it will be an added advantage for me. He clarified that he has found a solution to any demand that is opposed.
