Vanilla ice cream, paneer, butter and more: Milma reduces prices of 100 dairy products after GST revision

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Milma will reduce prices of dairy products and pass on the benefits of GST exemption to consumers from Monday. The prices of more than 100 products, including ghee, butter, paneer, and ice cream, are being reduced. The prices of ghee, butter, and paneer will be reduced by about 7 per cent. The price of ice cream will be reduced by 12-13%.

GST on flavoured milk was reduced from 12 to 5 per cent; payasam mix from 18 to 5 per cent. There is also a discount on packaged juices. Milma Chairman K.S. Mani expressed happiness in being able to pass over the full benefit of GST exemptions to consumers without compromising on quality.

Ghee price to drop by Rs 45 per litre

1. Ghee price to drop from Rs 720 to Rs 675 per litre. A decrease of Rs 45. Half the price to drop by Rs 25 from Rs 370 to Rs 345. (GST 12 to 5%)

2. Butter (400 grams) to drop by Rs 15 from Rs 240 to Rs 225. 500 grams of paneer to drop by Rs 11 from Rs 245 to Rs 234. 5% GST on paneer was completely waived.

3. Vanilla ice cream to drop by Rs 24 from Rs 220 to Rs 196 per litre (GST 18% to 5%)
