From YouTuber to former additional private secretary; Meta to hand over list of accused in cyber attack case
KOCHI: Meta is compiling the information of the accused in the cyber-attack case against CPM leader and teacher K J Shine. The information will be handed over to the investigating officers soon. SHOs of nearby stations have also been included in the team to speed up the investigation.
A mobile phone was seized during a search conducted at the house of Congress leader CK Gopalakrishnan, the first accused in the case. It will be handed over to the forensic team. Gopalakrishnan was given a notice to appear for questioning at the Aluva Cyber Police Station. The accused is currently at large. YouTuber Yassar, alias Kondotty Abu, has also been named as an accused in the case. KM Shahjahan, former additional private secretary of VS Achuthanandan, is also an accused in the case.
KJ Shine filed a complaint with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the DGP and the Women's Commission after facing a vile cyber-attack. Based on the complaint filed by Shine, the Ernakulam Rural Cyber Police has registered a case, filed under sections of the IT Act for insulting femininity. The complaint was filed against a leading daily newspaper, five pro-Congress web portals, YouTube channels and various social media accounts. The police team visited Shine's house in Paravur and recorded her statement. Shine handed over evidence, including links and screenshots of the defamatory posts, to the police.
