CPI Party Congress: Delegates criticise national leadership for not taking up people’s issues
CHANDIGARH: During the 25th Party Congress of the CPI, delegates expressed dissatisfaction with the national leadership, accusing them of hesitating to address people’s concerns. The remarks came up while reviewing the draft political, organizational, and political assessment reports.
Delegates from Maharashtra, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh raised concerns, saying the CPI has lost significance at the national level and that the party cannot exert influence without addressing issues that affect the public.
The Party Congress will conclude on Thursday after the elections for the new General Secretary, National Secretariat, National Council, and National Executive Committee.
Three separate committees will meet on Wednesday to review amendments to the political report, organizational report, and political review report. The current National Council and National Executive Committee will hold their final meeting on Wednesday. The elections for the new committees will take place on Thursday morning, after the reports and resolutions have been passed.
